Two friends with heads full of ideas (sometimes a few too many!) who complement each other in every way. We wanted to create a place in our village where people could meet, slow down, enjoy homemade cake, and simply spend time together.
Szopka Smaków definitely wasn’t a café planned around a desk. That’s just not who we are. Everything happened naturally and a little spontaneously. The idea first started taking shape over a Sunday coffee and a slice of cake baked by my mum, Anka Wypiekanka. We thought it would be wonderful to share those flavours and homemade treats with others.
And so, after countless conversations and plenty of dreaming, Szopka Smaków was born. In the summer of 2025, we opened our doors for the very first time.
Why Szopka Smaków? Because it really is a shed! Built by hand from wood by Andrzej, under Magda’s close supervision, of course. 😉
Here you’ll find beautiful homemade cakes baked by my mum, Anka Wypiekanka, in her home kitchen using natural ingredients and trusted family recipes. We also serve toasties — but not just any toasties. Our signature triple-layer toasties are made with local ham, local cheese, and carefully selected ingredients.

Anka Wypiekanka.
All of our cakes are baked by my mum, Ania — better known as Anka Wypiekanka — in her home kitchen. Every morning, before the café even opens its doors, she’s already busy baking.
She’s been baking for as long as I can remember. Growing up, our home always smelled of freshly baked cake. She uses eggs from our happy hens, natural ingredients, and recipes she has perfected over many years. There’s no place here for ready-made mixes or commercial shortcuts — every cake is made by hand and reflects the time, care, and love she puts into her baking.
@AnkaWypiekanka started as Mum’s Instagram name, but before long everyone began calling her that. Alongside baking for Szopka Smaków, she also creates custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, christenings, and other special occasions.
Her signature creation — and our biggest hit from last season — is her meringue roulade. Light as a cloud, sweet, and simply unforgettable.

Where do our ingredients come from?
When we say we know where every ingredient comes from, we truly mean it.
The eggs used in our cakes come from our own happy hens. Our cheese, ham, bacon, and many other ingredients are sourced from small local producers we know and trust.
We take the same approach with our coffee, syrups, and other ingredients. We use natural syrups from the Polish brand Leśne Życie, and our coffee comes from a Polish roastery.
Because we believe great food starts with great ingredients.

Szopka Smaków wasn’t built from a blueprint. It started as a wooden shed and developed into a cafe with plenty of character, built by hand by Andrzej.
From the very beginning, we wanted to create a place that felt like a natural part of its surroundings. That’s why we chose wood, birch trees, and a simple, cosy atmosphere over anything artificial. Every detail came together step by step, shaped by our ideas, our hard work, and the love we’ve poured into this place.
We want everyone who visits to feel more like they’re relaxing in someone’s garden than sitting in a restaurant. No rush, no stress — just good coffee, homemade cake, and a space where you can simply slow down and enjoy the moment.
On sunny days, our terrace offers breathtaking views of the Tatra Mountains, the Gorce Mountains, and Babia Góra — the perfect excuse to stay a little longer. 🌿
